2. Objectives of the Workshop – This workshop provides concise coverage of the strategic planning process in an upbeat, informative manner. This is interactive, enjoyable workshop where participants have the opportunity to ask questions, complete short exercises, and learn the fundamentals of strategic planning. Participants come away from the workshop exceptionally knowledgeable of the latest tools, concepts, and techniques regarding about how and why to do strategic planning.

3. Who Should Attend the Workshop? Both practitioners and academicians and students of strategic planning are invited, including corporate executives, professors, instructors, business owners, business executives, managers, government agency heads, nonprofit organization leaders, strategic management students, and management consultants. The workshop will focus on strategy formulation tools and techniques, rather than strategy implementation issues and problems.

4. Benefits Provided to Participants – Participants attending the workshop will each develop a clear three year strategic plan for their or an assigned company. Participants will also be trained on how to lead all other executives in their firm through the strategic planning process. All participants will receive a copy of Dr. David’s 12th edition strategic management book as well as a copy of Forest’s strategic planning templates. Participants will receive a Certified Strategic Planner Diploma. 6. About the Trainers – Dr. Fred R. David and Forest R. David

Fred and Forest have provided strategic planning workshops at meetings throughout the USA. They have traveled extensively in Western Europe and Southern Europe, including Bosnia, Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, France, and England. They have published articles in international journals such as Long Range Planning out of England. They annually attend the Society for the Advancement of Management’s (SAM) International Conference and present papers there. Their most recent article titled “What Are Business Schools Doing For Business?” will soon be published in Business Horizons, a top business journal.

Dr David’s strategic planning book is published by Prentice Hall worldwide in many languages, including Arabic, Pharsi, Spanish, Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese, and soon to be Indian and perhaps Russian. This book is the best selling strategic planning book in the Middle East, as well as in Japan and China. Forest has been the sole author of the Case Solutions Manual for the past four editions of this textbook. In this capacity, he has become exceptionally knowledgeable in developing strategic planning solutions for a wide variety of firms ranging from high tech to beverage to energy. Forest currently works for Francis Marion University teaching courses and assisting businesses in doing strategic planning. Forest is a statistician who has excellent quantitative and computer skills, especially as related to marketing research and strategic planning.
